Anyways, like I said, this is Ibicella and she is one of the more rare premium mobbles. I was lucky to get her for a 1:1 trade of Supermob She was the reason I started playing so, needless to say, I am wicked excited to get her So, to commemorate I decided to draw a phone wallpaper of her as there is like no fan art for mobbles
She is 1080x1920 so she is designed for a Galaxy S4 I'm posting her to the "other" gallery in wallpapers because there is no Android gallery. There is an iPhone & iPod touch gallery but no Android gallery...
I hope you like her
I feel bad for never commenting but such is the life of a maid, there's never any time to do anything but clean
I understand completely so don't worry about it
Ahhh, this is a really cute interpretation of Ibicelly. ; v ; I'm not familiar with the character and am just basing my opinion on the link you had in the description, but I think you did a really wonderful job ! Even though you added more flower accessories/details and changed the dress/outfit, she's still very recognizable. I think this whole piece is very well done – the drawing, colors, shading and rendering are delightful ! The color palette of the piece has lovely contrasting blues and yellows, and the way you did the background frames the character really well. I love how you have bounce light and different affects like sparkles and glow – it really adds to the piece. Ahh, I just love how you colored it !!! u v u
So the biggest thing that stuck out to me in this piece was the lighting/shading. I'm not exactly sure where the light is coming from – it looks like it's coming from all directions, top right, top left, and behind. That makes the piece a little confusing. Ahh, I see that there's a beam of light coming from the top left, which makes her cast shadow make sense now (I was going to point it out), but doesn't really account for how she's shaded herself. The way she's shaded is like the light is coming from the top left, but not necessarily behind her – if the light was behind her like the shadow indicates, her whole front would probably be in shadow, with some backlight, unless there was a light source in front of her as well. So really deciding where the light is coming from and figuring out how forms are affected by that light will really help.
The second thing I noticed is that, although the background is really lovely and detailed, it could stand to be a bit darker, mostly the blue wall (I think it is), just so she pops out from the background more. Because right now, the color of the wall and her shirt are somewhat similar, so it's possible her torso area could get lost. Drawing attention away from the background would help us place more attention on Ibicelly, which I'm pretty sure is the focus of the piece.
I really love the drawing and your color is great ! (I'm actually a bit jelly because I can't color or do backgrounds that well. u v u) Just remembering to have a cohesive light source and adjusting the background in ways so we're focused more on the character would help the piece. Awesome job ! c:
