First things first before I start telling you about me, I find it impersonal to talk to someone with out a face to go with the name. So here are few pictures of me:

Some people say I look like Adam Savage from the mythbusters. Not sure if that is a good thing... though I think I may rival him in the lack of a tan department

Ok, now that thats done, I'll tell you about me

I suppose my name is a good start, so yeah, the name is Mike and I am a known emoticon whore. I love those things, they are the best creation since tacos. I would say sliced bread but I never really understood the fascination with sliced bread. I mean it's bread, but its sliced, oooooh. With that being said it is also evident that I can ramble with the best of them. Yeahp, master rambler indeed.
Well, art is not really my strong point, actually programming is. I have made a few very successful Fan video games. You may or may not have heard about the Hard Hat series, but that is my claim to internet fame. Thats right, internet fame. I have been in 4 magazines for this game. Once in Retro Gamer and 3 times in bravo screenfun. I love that little fella. For a while I made a sprite comic with him called Daily Routine, the character Mike is suppose to be me.
Moving on, my favorite genre of music is Metal. More specifically Thrash Metal (not to be confused with Trash metal lol). Pantera, Slayer and Dethklok are at the top of that list. Slayer is straight up awesome in musical form. Its true, you should try it, it goes good with pepsi.
I have been in the Army Reserves now for close to 7 years and I have already been deployed (overseas). I was in the oh so fun land o' Kuwait. It was wicked hot, like the average was 120-130 degrees! Thats just stoopid hot. I was recently given the position of Platoon sergeant. Yeahp, SGT Damaged

. Thats my actual rank as well. I work for the government as a computer technician/help desk.
I have braved the college environment, and I did ok. I have 3 years under the belt but now I am taking a break

. I was in a fraternity (hence some of those pictures) and the times there were, well, needless to say I could have made better use of my time and skills. Regardless, I have 3 years of college programming under the belt and I learned such wonderful languages: C, C++, Java, MIPS and OpenGL. OpenGL is NOT fun! I really loathed it actually. When I took the course (computer graphics) I was expecting to make models in Light wave or Maya, nope! I got to make 3d things in code! That is painful.
I have been programming since I was 13 years old. I started with an Apple IIgs and learned AppleSoft Basic (does this make me sound, like, wicked old? I mean, Apple IIgs, who even knows of that anymore? But alas, I am only 25). I wrote my first game in this wonderful assembly language, Block Man. It was sweet! It even had a level editor and I think it was only 300 lines of code. I am a firm believer in efficient code. What I do is I make the algorithm (usually a very rough thing) and then I stream line it. With Hard Hat 1 the shooting script was 400+ lines, with Hard Hat 4(which may someday be finished) it is down to less than 60. Ok, no more geek talk.
I decided to try art out because it does not come naturally to me. I am not an artistic person, I am a programmer, very black and white. So art (being the grayest form of anything) is very tough for me. But I want to draw, like wicked bad. So, hence my existence here

I love it here now and my later drawings are not half bad. They still take forever though.
I am way to giving. I like to give things away, like I think I may have a problem

. I prefer to do things for others than they do them for me. Its true, its true. I will spend my loot just to make a complete stranger smile and that is reward enough. Is this bad? I don't think so.
I used to be (well, I technically still am, but only in title) an administrator over at the Game Maker Community. I set that place up back in '03 with the creator of Game Maker, Mark Overmars when the forums moved from ezboard to Invision Power Board. This is where I learned all I know about forum administration and user administration. I used to love it there, but the community changed since the YoYo Games merge

Oh well. I have had the same Duke Nukem Avatar since I joined there and it has only been changed for holidays. On the topic of Duke, I know EVERY SINGLE DUKE NUKEM 3D QUOTE. Yeahp, tis true. He has some of the best one liners ever, too bad most were stolen from the evil dead series. I think if they made a Duke Nukem Movie, Howie Long would look PERFECT for the part

I think that just about sums me up in a few paragraphs. I hope the read wasn't too boring and hopefully you got a laugh or 2

Enjoy,
Damaged

I love programming, its a lot of fun and a stress reliever for me sometimes... that probably sounds weird. I bet you would be good at it with all your crazy math skills
