Manga and Anime News
Hello! Its that time again for a Manga/Anime Newsletter for you all! Well, for this weeks newsletter we will be covering the Oekaki and 3D galleries of the Manga and Anime Gallery ^_^

Oekaki?
To be honest, I'm not 100% on what it is either ^^; So I went and did a little research on the topic. The word Oekaki is the Japanese term for the act of drawing meaning doodle or scribble. The most common miscat in this gallery are pieces that actually belong in the traditional gallery because of the definition of the word. But, for Deviant Art it is actually a digital art made using an Oekaki program. So in order for art is to be placed in the Oekaki gallery it needs to be made with an Oekaki applet.

Oekaki Gallery Description
Digital manga/anime artwork created in an oekaki program such as Oekaki BBS, Paint BBS, MS Paint, Shi Painter and Lascaux Sketch.

3D?

Well, this is something I am far more familiar with (thank you Doom and Duke Nukem!). This is another gallery that I have found a metric ton of miscats placed into. I suppose it makes sense, after all the gallery is for 3D art, so if your piece looks 3D then why not put it there right? I can see this point of view, but that is not what this gallery is for. This gallery is intended for 3D Anime and Manga art made with a 3D program like Poser. Just because the drawing/painting looks 3D does not make it belong there.

oekaki is like photoshop on the internet but very basic and can be full of glitches.
also used for paintchats

Me too honestly, all I knew is that it was made with boards like OekakiBBs, but thats it. I want a Chibi Hiromi as well, in plush form :giggle:
