The objective of the contest was to take a picture that was drawn/created and uploaded to Deviant Art from 2007-2009 and redrawn/recreated to the best of your abilities today. This picture should have been a recreation close to verbatim the original picture.

I'm sorry that you thought time was a part of the judging process but it was not. The pictures were judged on the amount of improvement since the original.
But now I want to improve even more than before...lol, but there probably won't be any contest like this again in next 2 years...
